Taking out Zmarta Trygghetsförsäkring can create greater financial security as it can help you with your ongoing monthly expenses should you suffer from sick leave or involuntary unemployment.
Zmarta Trygghetsförsäkring is a voluntary group insurance that can cover your insured monthly amount, up to SEK 10,000, in the event of sick leave (of at least 50%) due to an accident or illness for more than 30 days and in the event of involuntary unemployment. Zmarta Trygghetsförsäkring is a supplement to any income protection you have through your employment or private group insurance.
Pre-contractual information is something that we must give you by law. You should print and save this information or save it onyour computer. It is important to read this document. Zmarta Trygghetsförsäkring
Zmarta Trygghetsförsäkring is a voluntary group insurance that can cover your insured monthly amount if you should be affected by sick leave or involuntary unemployment, but a maximum of SEK 10,000/month. Limitations and exclusions to the insurance cover appear in the insurance policy, "Zmarta Trygghetsförsäkring".
Cost of insurance
The insurance premium is a fixed percentage of 2.95% of the total insured monthly amount and is paid monthly in advance via Autogiro (direct debit). The insurance comes into force when we have approved your application.
Insurance period
The insurance is valid for one month at a time and is automatically renewed every month unless canceled by you or the Insurer.
Who can sign up for Trygghetsförsäkring?
You can sign up for the insurance if you:
- are a customer of Zmarta or the spouse or common-law partner of a customer of Zmarta.
- have turned 18 but not 67 years of age and are registered in Sweden.
- have one of the following forms of employment:
- have permanent employment of at least 17 hours per week and you have been employed for at least 6 months in a row with the same employer (employment other than permanent employment that changes to permanent employment with the same employer may be credited for the 6 months as long as you are permanently employed when you join the insurance)
- have employment of at least 17 hours per week
- are self-employed for at least 12 months, see the definition of Self-employed in the terms and conditions.
Please note that Zmarta and AXA have jointly made the following assumptions about the need for the insurance for the customers offered the product:
- are salaried or self-employed
- have ongoing fixed, direct and indirect costs. If the above assumptions are not met, it is possible that this insurance is not suitable for you.
This is how you sign up for your insurance
If you want to sign up for insurance, contact Zmarta on the website www.zmarta.se or telephone; 0431-47 47 90. Payment of your insurance is made via Autogiro. In connection with your application, you are therefore asked to provide your approval for payment via Autogiro and you must take note of the Autogiro terms and conditions before you sign up for the insurance. Compensation
Compensation in case of sick leave or unemployment can be paid for up to 12 consecutive months (360 days) for each insurance case. The maximum amount the insurance can reimburse you with is SEK 10,000 per month. The total payment for several periods of sick leave and unemployment can be a maximum of 36 monthly payments. In the event of a diagnosis of serious illness, the insurance can reimburse you with a lump sum of SEK 25,000. In the event of death, a lump sum of SEK 100,000 is paid
Reimbursement from the insurer is made to the account you specify yourself.
What does the Trygghetsförsäkring cover?

In short, the following applies:
Sick leave
The insurance can provide compensation if during the insurance period you are on sick leave for at least 50% due to illness or accident and are prevented from performing your work as a permanent employee, fixed-term employee or self-employed. You must not have any other income-generating work and you must be checked regularly by a licensed doctor for the illness or injury. The employment you are on sick leave from must have a working time of at least 17 hours per week, or alternatively be on sick leave from your work as a self-employed person. After that, the insurance provides compensation retroactively for the first 30 days and from day 31 with a daily compensation which corresponds to one-thirtieth (1/30) per day of the insured monthly amount as long as you are on sick leave for at least 50%, but a maximum of SEK 10,000 per month.
Significant exclusions
The insurance does not cover sick leave that is less than 50% or occurs within 30 days from the start date of the insurance. Also, it does not cover illness, medical condition or injury that you knew about within twelve months immediately before you took out the insurance or for which you received or sought advice or treatment from the health and medical services within 12 months before you took out the insurance.
The insurance also excludes, among other things:
- sick leave due to alcohol and/or drug abuse or self-inflicted bodily harm,
- sick leave as a result of surgical interventions and medical treatments that are not medically necessary,
- for sick leave due to mental illness, psychological problems or stress-related illness, for example depression, stress or crisis reaction, you either need to submit a certificate proving that Försäkringskassan has approved your sick leave or a certificate issued by a specialist doctor in the field.
Involuntary unemployment
The insurance can provide compensation if during the insurance period you become involuntarily unemployed from your employer or due to bankruptcy or liquidation for self-employed persons in Sweden. In order for compensation to be provided, you must have been completely unemployed for 30 consecutive days. After that, the insurance provides compensation retroactively for the first 30 days and from day 31 with a daily compensation which corresponds to one-thirtieth (1/30) per day of the insured monthly amount as long as you are completely unemployed, but a maximum of SEK 10,000 per month.
Significant exclusions
The insurance does not cover unemployment due to notice or termination that was known or should have been known to you when you applied for coverage or unemployment due to termination of which you have been notified within 180 days of the start date of the policy or unemployment that is voluntarily caused.
For self-employed persons, unemployment insurance does not apply if grounds for the company's bankruptcy or liquidation existed when the insurance was taken out or within the first 180 days from taking out the insurance.
The insurance also excludes, among other things:
- that the employment ends on grounds other than dismissal from the employer due to a lack of work or because the company ceases to exist, e.g.
- termination due to natural resignation or fixed-term employment ending at an agreed time,
- that you have committed an illegal act.
- unemployment for you as a fixed-term employee if you have worked for less than 24 months for the same employer
Your obligation to provide information
You are obliged to provide all information that may be of importance to the insurance. You are also obliged to provide correct and complete answers to the questions that are put to you when joining the insurance, when renewing and changing and when settling claims. You are obliged to fulfill what you certify when joining the insurance, when renewing and changing and when settling claims. If, during the insurance period, you find out something that could be of importance to the insurance, you must notify the insurer of this without delay. Failure to fulfill the obligation to provide information and to certify incorrect information may result in insurance compensation not being paid or being paid with a lower amount than what was agreed. Incorrect information can also lead to the insurer canceling your policy.
Termination and right of withdrawal
You can cancel the policy at any time with immediate effect or from the time you specify by contacting Zmarta. Termination may mean that unused premiums will be refunded to you. Termination is preferably done in writing to forsakring@zmarta.se or by regular mail to; Zmarta AB, Box 1068, 262 21 Ängelholm.

The broker of this insurance is Zmarta AB (Zmarta), whose main business is to mediate loans and other credits as well as supplementary insurance brokering to its borrowers and other customers. Zmarta is also the group representative for this group insurance. As a group representative, Zmarta is also classified as an insurance intermediary. As a group representative and insurance broker, Zmarta performs some tasks that are normally the responsibility of an insurer and Zmarta is entitled to compensation of 45% of the premium paid from the insurers. It is received, among other things, to cover sales costs, customer service and various administration Zmarta has for the insurance. In addition, Zmarta may either pay to the insurers, or receive from the insurers, a certain percentage (loss/profit share), of the insurance's results over time depending on the income, the volume of claims and the costs of the insurance. The profit/loss share amounts to 60% of the result.
Zmarta is registered as an insurance intermediary with the Swedish Companies Registration Office as its own insurance broker. Insurer
Insurers according to these terms and conditions are in the case of sick leave, serious illness and death, AXA France Vie Sweden branch (516411-5080), and with regard to unemployment AXA France IARD Sweden branch (5164115072). The branches have been registered in the Swedish Companies Registration Office's register. The Swedish branches are under the supervision of the Financial Supervisory Authority, www.fi.se, and the Swedish Consumer Agency, www.konsumentverket.se, regarding marketing. Law and language
Swedish law is applied to the insurance and its terms and disputes must be settled in a Swedish forum. The insurance company is under the supervision of the Financial Supervisory Authority. Responsibility
According to the agreement and by law, Zmarta is responsible for pure financial loss that may occur to a customer, an insurer or someone who derives their right from the customer as a result of Zmarta intentionally or negligently disregarding its obligations according to ch. 4 § 1 of the law (2018:1219) on insurance distribution. Zmarta has mandatory liability insurance for insurance intermediaries with Europe SA Branch in Sweden ("AIG"). The insurance has number 000111A019. Claims for damages directed against Zmarta regarding the insurance brokerage can be reported directly to AIG, in the event that compensation has not been paid by Zmarta. Such a claim must be addressed to AIG within twelve months of the claim arising. A person who is not satisfied with the insurance company's decision on compensation loses its right if it does not bring an action against the company within six months from the time he became aware that the claim could be asserted and in any case within ten years from the earliest the claim could have been asserted. The maximum compensation that can be paid for an individual liability damage is 1,300,380 euros. The maximum compensation that can be paid for liability damages during an insurance year amounts to a maximum of 5,201,500 euros. Contact details for AIG:

Complaints and advice on insurance
If you are not satisfied with the handling of your insurance or claims case, you can turn to the AXA customer ombudsman, where you have the opportunity to request correction by explaining your case and asking for the customer ombudsman's opinion.

If you want to discuss the matter with an independent party, advice and information can be provided by Konsumenterna's guidance for banking and insurance: www.konsumenternas.se , which is an independent advisory agency that can provide information on insurance matters. However, the agency does not examine individual cases. You can also get guidance and advice from the municipal consumer guidance.
If you believe that a complaint does not result in a satisfactory correction from AXA, you can apply free of charge for a review at the Personal Insurance Board, which issues opinions in disputes within health, accident and life insurance, with contact details: www.forsakringsnamnder.se, tel: 0200-22 58 00, or contact the General Complaints Board: www.arn.se, phone: 08-508 860 00.
